Dennis Green?

At this point, with the way this coaching search has been flubbed from the get go, nothing would surprise me.

Is it sad to note, when Doug says "unbelievable," we automatically are programmed to think for the worst?

Buddy Ryan!!! Devils will have a winner in town!

Further, looks like a headhunter has been brought out, the same fools that tried to sell us June Jones. Just ridiculous.

So if the AD can't find the coach, why is she the AD?

asu is probably afraid to fire Love because they feel she will slap a sex discrimination suit on them. If Love were a man she would have been fired long ago.

Just give her another job with a different job title. Maybe athletic facilities coordinator.

June Jones Statement: It was on twitter, so that's why it's an odd format.

June Jones re: last wk's ASU chaos: "When you're successful, stuff happens. My only regret is I'm sry it happened & how it went down."
Jones said he didn't think his $2 mil buyout was the reason the ASU deal didn't go through: "I thought it was over & done with"
Jones on not getting ASU job: "I dont really care at this point, it’s not important to me. God didn't want me to be anywhere but here"
More Jones/ASU: "I thought it was inevitable they’d offer me, but I never got the job. For whatever reason, it just didn’t happen."

When Lisa Love gave Herb Sendek a contract extension through 2016, maybe she views this as a standard of success for the ASU football team.

Per Doug620:

Jim Tressel! Kidding. ASU must be waiting for something, because there's no excuse for taking this long. Every other school has found their coaches, while ASU is still being used as an extension catalyst for other HC's. Either that, or Lisa Love is getting a brain transplant...

I'm intrigued...

Your guess is as good as mine. But up is down and down is up in the athletic dept these days, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Not Looking good:

I fully expect ASU's top recruiter Steve Broussard to end up taking a job at UCLA in the coming days (and a number of ASU commits with him)
Broussard is an important piece for ASU, he's the main recruiter and got most of the commits for this years class. If he goes, ASU clearly doesn't care about football, which is becoming more and more evident everyday.

Anyone like Jeff Fisher? It's starting to move away from "stupid fan wish list" to something with ... maybe just an ounce more credibility. I know he did inquire about the job, and allegedly Crow flew to Tennessee tonight to get a coach not named Wilcox. Normally I pass on this kind of crap, but people keep asking *me* if it's true. No idea.

FWIW, Fisher is a head scratcher for me. NFL guy with NO college experience. But a good NFL coach. Not just some retread. Rare long-time tenure with one team. It'd be a hire that would be hard for me to criticize, even though he violates one of my basic rules of college coaching hires.

He would certainly win the press conference. :D

Personally, I would LOVE to have Fisher. Just his name would be a great recruiting tool, and obviously he knows how to coach. My only concern is, in the next year or two, when the NFL teams come calling, which they will, there's a strong chance Fisher would leave. He would bring a great pedigree of Pro Experience, which recruits love, and he would bring in a lot of great assistance coaches.

In reference to Tennessee, several sources have indicated multiple times that ASU has never had any contact with Wilcox, but who else in Tennessee is worth looking at?

I agree that if it's Fisher, he won't be at ASU long. He will be invited back into the NFL very quickly.

Jeff Fisher would be the bottom of the 9th inning, down to their final out, walk off home run that would make all the nonsense that's gone on in this search tolerable.

That said, I'm almost certain he's going to be coach of either the Dolphins or Cowboys next season.

I bet Jeff Fisher's son would be a part of the package if ASU is going that direction.

I wonder why he would say no to USC, his alma mater last year but yes to ASU now.

Either way Fisher was IMO one of the most overrated coaches in NFL history. Only five playoffs wins in 17 years at Tennessee. He dos have clout though and would make a fine hire for ASU especially at this point in the search if he can compile the right staff.
