Starting pitcher Logan Webb is playing in his seventh major-league season with the San Francisco Giants since debuting in August 2019.
Over the past two seasons, Webb has emerged as the pitching staff's ace in the orange and black, finishing second in 2023 NL Cy Young Award voting and earning his first All-Star Game selection in 2024.
His reputation as a true workhorse comes from starting over 30 games in each of the past three seasons—and he’s avoided any second-half drop-off in performance despite the heavy workload.
In April 2023, Webb signed a five-year, $90 million extension with the Giants covering 2024–2028 and buying out his remaining arbitration years plus the first three seasons of free agency.

Despite Webb’s consistency, the Giants have slumped recently, dropping 11 of their last 15 games. On Monday, San Francisco suffered a third straight loss, falling 4–2 to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Webb took the loss after tossing 6.1 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out seven batters.
Webb spoke on the Giants’ struggles after the game: “It’s tough right now, but if we want to go to the places that we want to go to, we have to get through it. We’ve just got to dig deep and show up tomorrow. That’s the only thing we can do,” per NBC Sports Bay Area’s Alex Pavlovic.
Webb’s individual performance in 2025 remains impressive. His 2.61 ERA would rank as a career best, and through 18 starts he’s compiled a 7–6 record with 127 strikeouts and just 24 walks in 113.2 innings pitched.
At 45–40, the Giants have slipped out of a playoff spot. They sit 1.5 games behind in the NL Wild Card race and eight games behind the NL West–leading Dodgers. With Webb on the bump, San Francisco will lean on its veteran ace to help reverse the slide and mount a late-season push.
