After a shoulder injury earlier this week, New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is "good" and will return to practice on Wednesday, per head coach Brian Daboll. ESPN's Adam Schefter made the report on Wednesday.
The former LSU football star suffered the injury during Tuesday's practice. He grabbed at his shoulder following a run block and went to the ground. After walking off the field under his own power, he met with the team's athletic trainer and didn't return to practice.
The ailment adds to Nabers' ongoing toe injury that dates back to his days in Baton Rouge. It held him out of organized team activities (OTAs) earlier in the offseason, and he spoke about staying on top of it during an interview on the "Up & Adams" show Monday.
Nabers will enter his second professional season after a No. 6 overall selection by the Giants in the 2024 NFL Draft. He was a front-runner for last year's offensive rookie of the year honor after accumulating 1,204 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 109 receptions.
Despite dealing with a revolving door at the quarterback position, Nabers averaged 11 yards per catch and was a bright spot in an otherwise dull offense. The Giants brought in Russel Wilson, Jameis Winston, and fellow rookie Jaxon Dart to compete for the starting quarterback role.
