Funny Gene Smith Story
True Story...
I called the Cardinals office a while ago (at the behest of my wife) to see if what the security would be like, and what could be brought into Sun Devil.
I guy I talked to, who was probably just a ticket guy or something, told me it was up to ASU to determine the security standards. So the Cardinals guy gave me a number "at Sun Devil Stadium".
So I call the number, and a female voice on the other side says "Gene Smith's office." Not realizing what has happened, or who I called, I asked her about security and such. She replied with "Why are you asking me?" I told her what had happened, and she started laughing..."figures!" he said. Then he tells me "You had a question about security and they gave you this number? Classic!"
I then asked what number I had called, and she said "You just called Dean Smith's office, the Athletic Director for Arizona State University."

They went to aribtration and ASU lost. The only thing to be decided is what the penalty should be.

Gene Smith wasn't the AD at the time this spun out of control. It was his White, who's now at Notre Dame.
