Forget the record the last two seasons. Expectations for this year were high and they are crapping the bed. Three straight losses on last second FG’s with one being an historic collapse is doing him in. People were patient and aren’t being rewarded for it.

Clock is ticking for everyone involved with this team.

We are about to be 2-5 at the bye.

Who is going to get the ax?

Through 40 games, Jonathon Gannon has a 14-26 record. Here is how he compares to every other Cardinals coach since Joe Bugel who coached at least 40 games while in Arizona. Steve Wilks and Buddy Ryan aren’t included due to not coaching enough games, and Gene Stallings wasn’t included due to starting in St. Louis.

1. Bruce Arians-27-13
2. Ken Whisenhunt-22-18
3. Kliff Kingsbury-20-19-1
4. Vince Tobin-15-25
5. Dave McGinnis-15-25 (does not count interim status in 2000)
6. Jonathon Gannon-14-26
7. Denny Green-12-28
8. Joe Bugel-11-29

I would say that Gannon is firmly in the need to be fired category. Dave McGinnis routinely fielded a roster with double digit undrafted free agents and he is right there with Gannon. Yuck!!
None of the other coaches went through a COMPLETE roster overhaul that JG took on. That’s because the Cardinals during my years as a fan that started in 1964, have NEVER done that before. And the rebuild was initiated almost entirely through the draft, which was also the plan put forward by Bidwill & Monti.

Buddah and Thompson can’t cover a bed.
And rightfully, I would say that neither will be long term Cardinals. The injuries to so much of our secondary have forced them to have to take on roles that are not necessarily their strengths. Budda was great last year because they didn’t have to count on him in coverage. Budda has some of the worst hands I’ve ever seen ugh.

We should have traded Budda when he still had value. Little guys that play violently don't age well.

Monti gave JG a very talented secondary. Its on JG to not go soft every 4th Qrt/final drive.
Did he? He gave JG a bunch of players for sure. 6th for Clark. Spent on SMB. UDFA ST5. 3rd on an injured Garrett Williams (has turned out well). 2nd on Max Melton. 3rd on Elijah Jones. 2nd on Will Johnson. 5th on Denzel Burke.

Monti might have successfully used the law of averages to fill 3 CB spots. Explain to me how this is an effective use of resources to fill three roster spots?

I am sure if Gannon was able to do over the Titans game he probably wins it but that's not how coaching works. The front office on the other hand can just keep drafting.

So you’re enjoying the sustained success that Monti and Gannon have delivered. All your patience is finally paying off.

Elijah Jones can’t see the field is crazy and no one cares.

One draft pick staring on the OL is crazy and no one cares.

One draft pick starting on the DL and it’s Dante Stills is crazy and no one cares.

Monti should keep Kyler and Gannon around and job shields.

So true. Way too much money invested there for a very modest return.
Come on man 150 tackles a year most past the LOS is golden….

Really nailing that goal of building through the lines/draft.

I have embraced the darkest timeline where I want Monti and Gannon in their positions through 2026 and 2027 just to see what they can do.

Im down to fire, keep Monti, draft their QB, move on from Buddha and Kyler. I dont see moving on from both Buddha and JT, but I'd say JT is probably safe with his incredibly low cap number next year of $4 million.

What frustrates me is when you look at thr 49ers and Seahwaks. The Seahawks win with any QB and the 49ers are the only team with more injuries than us. John Lynch hasn't been great at GM the last few years, but Shanahan is a fantastic coach and knows how to game plan and scheme the players he has.

Joe Brady is my choice! to replace JG. He is the Bills OC and was the position coach for Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase in college.
