Has George finished the rest of the book and have seasons 5.5 on been remade to match them? Nope, then I'm still out.

Don't have HBO but would watch if I did.
This was the only property that could tempt me to watch until he finishes the books. That said, I'm not terribly optimistic. 6 half hour episodes is a joke.
I wouldn't be terribly optimistic either if I could watch it.

Exactly how I feel. When GoT was first out I was super into it, to the point that I planned on reading the books eventually(I stopped reading fiction a long time ago, but was excited for this series). After how the show ended and the fact it seems more and more likely someone other than Martin will be finishing the books, I've completely lost interest in the IP.

The storyline is about Duncan the Tall (brianne’s great grandfather) and Egg Targaryen (maester Aemonds brother and Dani’s grandfather)

The books are still worth reading. Some of the side storylines are not in the series with some differences to the overall storyline.

My favorite character from the books is the Prophet - he’s shown maybe for a total of 4 minutes in the story. One of probably three characters that most likely has an impact on the overall storyline.

Don't hold your breath. We probably won't get the next book, let alone him finishing the series.
Oh I know, I'm totally checked out of the IP. That is the only thing that would bring me back.

Yes, the books were great. I read all of them back in the day. It's been about 14 years now since I finished A Dance with Dragons so my memory is getting a big fuzzy on some of the details. It's now been 5295 days since Dragons was release with George dragging his feet on Winds of Winter.

Oh these bastards!! A single looking episode??!! What the hell HBO???

Other than that ********...

Bravo.
The writers will have to be true Hollywood elite to screw this up.

We got a pairing here in league with the Mandalorian and Drogu...
Not a lot of screen time together in episode 1...but the chemistry between Dunk & Egg is palpable......
This has the potential to be a huge hit..
One freaking episode!
**** SUCKERS!!!!!

So. Main characters are Daneris’ grandfather/Jon’s great-grandfather and Brianne’s great-Grandfather

Holy crap HBO has a huge hit on their hands. The writers got it down...so far each episode ends with you going , "what??? No!! Not yet!"
always leave them wanting more.

This kid that plays Egg is fantastic. Mad skills for one so young...his understanding of sarcasm is beyond his years and his timing has been impeccable so far.

Its obviously a lighter time in the seven kingdoms. Lord Barratheon is an absolute hoot...its interesting to recognize the names of the houses..so kinda know who these people are in regards to ASOIAF

did a little research..Dexter Sol Ansell...kid is 11 years old,...and has nearly 10 years screen experience having worked in british soap operas...I guess that explains the skills, lol... Im a fan, the kid is nucking fails as Egg.

I am really digging this show...and every week im pissed that HBO reverted back to the single episode per week format...I guess they have always done it that way but modern streaming services have me spoiled.
