Even if they has made no trades I suspect the Dodgers would have kicked their butts all over Chavez Ravine.
Yes. More referring to line-ups, bullpen etc

who will be in CF?

For better or for worse. I still don't think he's ready.
The sooner Varsho starts (assuming that Lovullo will not bench him after every appearance --
a regular platoon vs. RHP is acceptable), the sooner Varsho can acclimate. And it might
justify dumping Starling in less than a season, although it still doesn't make them look good.

Varsho will never be ready if he is not given the chance. If he is truly not ready to take the
next step, he should not have been brought up. But if Lovullo drums into his head that he
wants him to hit every ball into the air, he'll never be ready and another career will have
been ruined. As he is ruining Escobar's and Lamb's. And Ketel's RBI capability.

I don't know where DBack Jon got the info that Varsho will be playing most every day, but
I hope that it comes from Torey. And that he sticks to it, for a change.

The worst thing that can happen is that he puts Lamb at 3B, sending Escobar to 2B, sending
Marte to CF, benching Varsho. Not only would it disrupt four players, but Lamb and Varsho
both hit lefty, so there'd be no sense in it. Time will tell if someone got through to Torey to
recognize that there are nine starters and the rest are subs. They are not all starters. Jon
Jay or any of the rest.

If this were not a COVID year without Minor League Baseball, there is no way Varsho should be up.

And you're right about the effect Torey's approach is having on the hitters, which is why I really don't want ANY of the future core playing until Torey is gone. These bad habits Torey is instilling are almost impossible to break. Jake Lamb is Exhibit A there, and Escobar is quickly turning into Exhibit B...

On the radio today - it was either Hazen or TL (just caught the tail end), and said that Varsho would be in most every game. Young as well.

Steve repeated three times that we can expect to see Ketel playing
CF several times a week -- he's at 2B today. With Young getting
steady playing time. He's DH'ing today.

Steve pointed out how loud the "crowd" noise is at Dodger Stadium.
'Said it sounds like the highway. Well, Chavez Ravine is on the
Hollywood Freeway.

I've noticed that all of the other teams have many, many times more
cutouts than at Chase Field. We do cut corners. :)

Well, I'm switching to PBS to see one of my favorite singing groups, Celtic Woman.

They put on a great show, especially their harmony. And individual leads.

'Be back in 90 minutes. Will the D-backs have scored more than one run? :)

A fine example of a last place team beating itself - 7 walks issued so far, several defensive lapses.

How in the world does Torey Lovullo deserve to survive this season?

Wow, four posts in the past hour and a half. I switched back from the
PBS concert i enjoyed. And I see that by the bottom of the 6th, the
D-backs have scored their traditional one run on their traditional
solo HR. Torey's "lift"!

I like a certain amount of predictability. But not one run per game.

And Steve just reminded us that Alex Young threw 35 pitches in
the 1st inning.

4-1 Dodgers with runners on 2B & 3B. Calhoun misplays a line drive
in RF and it is 6-1 after 6 innings. The DIAMONDbacks are tarnished!

Oh well! Seeing the Dodgers in their home uniforms reminds me of
1952, when I first rooted for them. One year later, they introduced
the concept of their number on the front of their uniforms in red.
It brings back childhood memories. As though it were yesterday.

Did you know that the first six batters in the Brooklyn Dodgers
batting order in '53 all scored 100 runs. And their 3-7 batters
all drove in at least 90 runs, with three of them driving in 100+.

And 3-7 all hit over .300, with #7 winning the batting title at .344.
Their #8 hitter hit .291.And the first four batters in the Dodgers
lineup finished 2-3-4-5 in the league in stolen bases.

Gilliam-Reese-Snider-Robinson-Campanella-Hodges-Furillo-Cox.

Those were the days! My baseball bookends are quite different.
Now our D-backs score one run per game.

BB just said that the Giants are leading the Rockies 23-2. It's
at Coors, of course. Hey, can we borrow 6 of those runs? :p

20 out of 21 D-backs batters had been retired until a
2-out walk in the 9th, followed by an Ahmed HR and
another walk. And Jansen, their closer, comes in.

Dodgers win 6-1, I mean 6-3. Again, too little, too late.

Goodnight, ASFN!
