This is really Yoshi's doing. Never would have been this close if it wasnt for his horrible inning.
Idk, we gave Archie back the lead heading into the ninth.

I think Archie brains were scrambled after he plunked story.

I am not excusing Yoshi poor play.

But Archie had his chance to seal the game and he blew it.

Archie is way too emotional of a player. He can't control them and that's why he can't and never will be a closer.

Too emotional and a one pitch pony.

Archie is a clown. By a long shot my least favorite Dback. This was an important game and Archie blew it. Could have gone 4-2 over the last six.

If this team needs to rely on the bearded clown they are in trouble.

Have you watched what he has done the last 2 weeks? He has been very good before today.

Last year is gone. I was looking at the improvement he made recently. Now is what counts. He still has a long to go but I was just going by his recent outings.

The recent outings, then today, support his MO.

He has one Major League worthy pitch -- a fastball.

Archie's curve and changeup are not.

When they haven't seen the fast ball in a while, he
can ride it for awhile. Then they catch up with it.

That is not the formula for being a closer. Or a
7-8 inning setup. Or even just a reliever.

His personality and red beard have gotten him
to where he is.

What are the odds that our closer and two
setup relievers would all fail this season?

The question is why? For each of them.

It is now a tall order to come up with all three.

And a wasted effort without a new pitching coach.

All the D-backs have are questions, no answers.

If you go by the last two weeks, yes, he was fantastic but 2 weeks don't erase an entire year of the beard being a trainwreck. He seems to think so but he has no humility.

Obviously someone was working with him the last 2 weeks

I’ll take a new pitching coach. We do not have the resources the Dodgers have. We never will. They are a superior team. We have many holes, especially relievers. Even If we win the Wildcard, we will pitch our“Ace” and then play the best of the Dodgers pitching staff. Hopeless. Money talks and the Dodgers have plenty of it.
