A ground rule double for Walker and the tying runs are on 2nd and 3rd with no one out.

Escobar is hit to load the bases. The first 5 up in the inning have gotten on base.
You are a good man thanks for the update. I've already given up. If we are going to suck then I'm not also going to listen to Brenly.

The Freight Train with a 3-run triple and the D-backs lead 5-4. Woohoo!

And a double by Vogt makes it 6-4.

Ketel drives in Vogt and it's 7-4 D-backs.

In the big inning, the D-backs joined the Universe. :)

Ironic that it has happened since the roof was opened.

And, hey, we're beating the (American League) cheaters.

Robbie has retired nine of the last ten and has a lead.

Calhoun singles in another run and it's 8-4.

A walk. Runners on 1st & 2nd. Walker is the
13th D-backs hitter this inning.

And the team has hit for the cycle this inning.

The D-backs third HR of the season and it was
an inside-the-park.

The D-backs had scored only 2 runs it their
previous 26 innings. And 8 this inning.

Walker singles in our 9th run. Runners on 1B & 3B with two outs.

He is the third D-backs hitter with two hits this inning.

And the inning ends. As BB just said, "This is fun!"

Keep the DH in the NL.

Got to love it when professional athletes do their job right BC?

I second that emotion! :)

Didn't the players have a players-only meeting recently?
(It is not easy keeping up with all the goings-on of the
Suns, Mercury and D-backs all playing in the same season.)

It looks like the players decided to override the status quo.

Starling's bunt hit was the 'weakest' of the inning, but
it helped established a tone. Team baseball.

9-6 D-backs as the Astros hit a 2-run HR in the top of the 5th.

It's only a 3-run lead. It would be demoralizing if we lose this game.

Robbie Ray has given up 3 HR's in 5 innings.

Ahmed has really struggled at the plate this year. He is an exceptional SS but we desperately need his bat too.

Steve just confirmed that all of the D-backs runs scored after the roof was opened, as I had thought.

And BB mentioned that Starling's bunt hit after a HR made set an important example for the team,
as i had posted as well.

I'm mentioning it, because it's good to see our broadcast team bring up points that fans bring up.

Escobar with a solo HR in the bottom of the 8th.

He was in a bad slump. He needed that!

14-7. It sounds good to be double the Astros.

Followed by back-to-back walks, with 2 outs.

And we go to the 9th inning.

Nine hitters in the lineup, all playing the same position all game. There's a first for Torey.

Luckily, the roof opened and the bats came to life before he had a chance to over-manage.

If, in fact, the players had a players-only meeting, I believe that was the catalyst for tonight.

Everybody had a hit and scored at least one run. Seven of the nine had at least one RBI.

Team ball. Not trying for home runs on every pitch -- the best way to hit home runs.
When there is no pressure.

Walker and Ahmed were our only two strikeouts all night. Peralta had 4 RBI's and
Calhoun had 3, including those produced by his inside-the-park HR.

Jon Jay went 1-for-5 and left a team high 4 runners on base as DH. A weak hitting
backup outfielder batting .167.

As I posted before the game, Varsho should have had that spot, following his first Major
League game. And for at least a week. Despite tonight's win, Torey is not helping this team.
Or its young players.

Torey's lack of skill in giving young position players a chance is reminiscent
of Mike D'Antoni's quote while coaching the Seven Seconds or Less Suns --

"It is not my job to develop young players."

I turned the game on just as the D-Backs were making their comeback. Great to see the bats finally come alive!
