Former Titans running back Derrick Henry lost the ball again Sept. 22, lost his footing in frustration and fell on the bench, then lost his words.
Henry, who twice led the NFL in rushing yards during his eight seasons with the Titans, fumbled for the third time in three games during the Baltimore Ravens' 38-30 loss to the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football.
The miscue, which occurred during the fourth quarter of a game the Ravens trailed by four points at the time, was forced when Lions defensive end Aiden Hutchinson punched the ball free from Henry's grasp.
"I'm at a loss for words," Henry told reporters afterward. "I apologize to Flock Nation. It's not a good feeling. I'm going to keep working to get it fixed."
The four-time All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowl selection had just three fumbles on 325 carries last season. He's fumbled more than three times in a season twice during his 10-year career − five times in 2019 and six times in 2022.
Five times he's fumbled one or zero times in a season.
"It hasn't been (a problem), and I don't think it'll be going forward, but we have to get it fixed," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "That was kind of a blind shot there. I thought he had the ball in good position. I thought the defender got a good look at it, though. It was kind of a retrace cutback play. So, (it was) a little bit of the perfect storm, but still, we just want to protect the football; all our guys do, and we have to do it. We have to be good at it."

Henry, who finished the game with 50 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries, has run for 242 yards and three touchdowns on 41 carries for the 1-2 Ravens, who do not play the Titans this season.
He has the most rushing touchdowns in Titans/Oilers franchise history (90) and the second-most rushing yards (9,502) behind Eddie George (10,009).
