May 3—Aaron Hutchins, the 1994 Ohio Mr. Basketball when he played at Lima Central Catholic, has been hired as Perry's boys basketball coach.
Hutchins, a 5-10 guard, scored 1,497 points in his three seasons at LCC from 1992-1994. He averaged 25.3 points and 7.1 assists a game as a senior. The Thunderbirds had a 73-6 record during his career and played in the boys state basketball tournament in each of those three seasons.
He was a three-year starter at Marquette University and scored 1,439 points in his college career. Marquette won 23, 22, 21 and 20 games his four seasons with the Golden Eagles.
