Former New England Patriots guard Atonio Mafi is reportedly signing with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Mafi was one of Bill Belichick's final draft picks back in 2023. He appeared in 17 games for the Patriots as a rookie and started in five of those matchups. New England used him on 44 percent of the offensive snaps and 11 percent of the special teams snaps.

Mafi failed to make the Patriots' final roster under Bill Belichick's successor, Jerod Mayo, the following season. He was quickly signed to the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad before eventually being promoted to the main roster. The Colts signed him to a reserve/future contract in January and then waived him a few months later.

The Patriots are slated to face the Raiders in Week 1 of the regular season.

Mafi has a long road ahead of him in training camp competition to prove he deserves a spot on the team's 53-man roster. He hasn't lasted longer than a year with a team since being drafted by Belichick. We'll see if this latest pit stop yields a different outcome for the former UCLA standout.
