For the uninitiated, the orginal Howdy Doody inference was that Rod was somehow Mr. Bidwill's "puppet?"

It was cute at the time - particularly when there was frustration a year ago over not signing all our targeted free agents. But since then, we've seen the signing of Denny Green along with Skkorp's ongoing assessment of Rod as (my words): "subtly and gradually leading ownership in the right direction." (Personally, I'm not ready to pass judgment one way or the other).

So, Redstorm. Which one are you? Clarabelle? Princess Summer-Fall-Winter-Spring? Or Flubbadub?

I think it's very pertinent, because so much has changed in the last year. The perception at the time is that Rod Graves was a puppet. Do those same folks still feel that way? I think Rod has managed his position and job well in respect to all the politics involved. He has been good for this team. Is he Howdy Doody? No. Is he the second coming of Ron Wolf? No. He is solid and his networking skills are paying large dividends for our team.

(I can't believed this post was resurrected!!)

Being the originator of the "Howdy Doody", I would say that I no longer see him as such. This is due more to getting Denny Green and letting him make the personel decisions. Rod is in the loop but Denny has the weight. (IMO).

I put the Howdy Doody in the closet and hopefully, never again to return to haunt the threads in this great forum of Cardinal Scholars. (Of which, I am not one)..LOL
