Fever Coach Stephanie White Doesn't Hold Back on Caitlin Clark's Replacement originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The Indiana Fever have recently been playing without Caitlin Clark, who's nursing a groin injury in her second WNBA season.

Indiana was matched up against the Las Vegas Aces after back-to-back losses to the New York Liberty.

The Fever defeated the Aces 80-70, and much of their success late in the game came from Indiana guard Aari McDonald.

McDonald is currently replacing Clark in the starting lineup, playing alongside Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, Natasha Howard and Lexie Hull.

After the game, where McDonald sank in a clutch three to put the Fever on top, coach Stephanie White had high praise for Clark's replacement.

"She's putting in the work," White said. "She understands momentum. She understands timing. She understands the flow of the game. That was just a big shot, and she shot it with confidence. There was no hesitation, and that’s what I wanted to see."

Aari McDonald finished the win over the Las Vegas Aces with nine points, two rebounds and four assists.

The Indiana Fever guard was signed during the season after the team waived DeWanna Bonner. McDonald has since become a vital piece to the Fever's lineup.

During her first season in Indiana, McDonald has posted 8.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
