Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte was seen sobbing on the broadcast of Tuesday's win over the Chicago White Sox during a pitching change in the seventh inning.

The incident happened after a fan made comments to Marte about his mother, who was killed in a car crash in 2017, the Diamondbacks confirmed to 12News. The fan was ejected from the game. ESPN later reported that the White Sox have banned the fan from the stadium indefinitely after the incident. The fan was later banned by Major League Baseball from all 30 of its ballparks.

What the guy said is a pretty generic taunt unless he researched her death. Grown men who heckle are losers but he doesn’t deserved be banned and doxxed (unless there’s more we don’t know about).

I heard on a radio show that it was all the guy said. He was told he was banned and why and he immediately felt remorseful because he had no idea about Marte's mom being dead. It's a 22-year-old fan and Marte's mom had died like 8 years ago. All he said was that he texted his mom last night. Basically, a weak yo mama joke/taunt.

Obviously, it hit Marte tough because he's an emotional guy and he was in the same city when he originally found out about what happened to his mom, but there is no way this young fan knew any of that.

Put me in the group that thought it was horrible at first and overblown as more info became available.
