Walker played 17 snaps a game as a sophomore, but coaches expanded the role of a player who can play as an off-the-ball linebacker and get after the quarterback on the edge. “We've had to get uncomfortable as coaches to use his skill set,” coach Kirby Smart said at the start of a 2024 season in which Walker had 60 tackles and 6.5 sacks. The Butkus Award winner combined for four sacks and six tackles for loss in two games last season against Texas and rang up two sacks in the SEC Championship against Alabama in 2023. — Marc Weiszer
