Experts react to the 49ers selecting Georgia Edge Mykel Williams in first round

In the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, the San Francisco 49ers made Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams the No. 11 overall pick on Thursday night in Green Bay.

The 6-foot-5 defensive end racked up 67 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and 14 sacks in three seasons with the Bulldogs. Williams, a former five-star recruit out of Georgia, was named to the All-SEC second team in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024.

Williams will now suit up opposite of Nick Bosa on the 49ers defensive line as a true pass rushing duo on the edge.
