I didn't expect that Steve & BB would be calling the game from , , ,
Chase Field. And they're not sitting in the same booth.

So far the piped in "fan's" sounds are being handled well.
There would be a lot lacking without it.

And Ketel, batting second, with a HR to RF. 1-0 D-backs.

Starling with a long fly out. The first 3 batters reached
the warning track, or beyond,

Despite the unusual circumstances, watching the D-backs & Dodgers
playing a ball game, announced by Steve & BB, feels good!

Baseball has always been my first love in pro sports.

The feeling tonight reminds me of being on the field
with the smell of Spring for the first time every year
back East, starting when I was eleven years old.

I feel like a kid again! In these troublesome times.

Even with the Dodgers now with a no-out grand slam.

Back to reality! 4-1. Of course, our pitcher is not a
Major League pitcher, in this Training game. He's just
walked his third batter.

And they're calling it an inning. Strange!

BTW, there are fan cutouts in the seats. They can be
bought. Not 40,000, but a bunch clustered.

Were getting killed but I don’t care. Just glad to see sports
Yeah, but it would be nice to see more than one hit (a HR in the 1st inning) over the first five innings.

Another season and the D-backs are still trying to "lift" every pitch into the air. How I'd like to see
some strategy employed.

And Ahmed with a single to lead off the 6th.

It looks like there are gnats on the field. The players are waving them away.

Part of the magic of watching the game tonight is hearing the best combo in baseball --
Steve Berthiaume and Bob Brenly -- calling the game. Brenly has a scruffy beard, BTW.

They are so smooth, even while they are in a couple of booths at Chase Field and the
action is at Dodger Stadium.

I appreciate that they are very honest about what they can and can't see as the plays
happen. Their director is doing a great job of showing on screen what they need to see.

BB just said that he hopes that the fans at home stood up in the 7th and sang, "Take
Me Out To The Ballgame".

And Steve said that some of the Dodger fans are headed for home. 'Funny stuff! :)

8-1 at the end of 7. I predicted the D-backs will finish at 31-29, even with a good
starting rotation.

Runner on 1B for the D-backs and Lamb HBP. Nobody out.

Here here

For those who find this kind of stuff interesting "here here" has probably become the more commonly used version these days but the correct choice is actually "hear hear". It's intended to instruct the listener to pay attention.

You're in mid-season form, Steve. I decided it to let it go by. :)

And the Dodgers win in 9-2.

Tomorrow's game vs. L.A. starts a half hour later at 6:30.

I didn't have a problem with it, I thought some of those cardboard cutouts were really getting into it.

Unnecessary putting in the crowd noise but the Dbacks and FSAZ never ascribe to the less is more theory on anything

I think we're going to see that as the new norm for most sports and most teams. That is, it will be the new normal IF we actually get to play more than a few games.

Wouldn't it be wierder hearing nothing? I enjoyed it and thought they handled it well, as I posted during the game.
