It’s summertime in the NBA, so it’s time to learn some history. The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the older franchises in the NBA. Their history dates to the 1949-50 season.

With that longevity, the team has had hundreds of players come through the City of Brotherly Love. Sixers Wire looks at the No. 20 which has been worn by a whopping 24 of those players in the history of the franchise. This running series will go through all of the uniform numbers worn in franchise history.

Here is the list of the 24 players who have worn No. 20 in Sixers history:

Dave Gambee​

Gambee wore two numbers during his seven seasons in Philadelphia. The other was No. 30. For most of the time, he wore No. 20, and he averaged 11.5 points and 5.7 rebounds while with Philadelphia.

Ron Filipek​

Filipek played 19 games for the Sixers, and he wore No. 20 in those games, averaging 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds.

Craig Raymond​

Raymond played 27 games for the Sixers in the 1968-69 season. He wore No. 20, and he averaged 2 points and 2.5 rebounds.

Fred Hetzel​

Hetzel played in 63 games for Philadelphia, and he averaged 6.1 points and 3.3 rebounds.

Dennis Awtrey​

Awtrey averaged 5.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in 131 games across three seasons for Philadelphia.

Doug Collins​

Collins was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1973 draft and he averaged 17.9 points and 3.3 assists while with the Sixers. He also was a four-time All-Star while being one of the top players in the league.

Leon Wood​

Before he became an official, Wood was a player who began his career in Philadelphia. He averaged 4.1 points and 1.8 assists in 67 games donning the No. 20.

Danny Vranes​

Vranes played 115 games for Philadelphia, and he averaged 2.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in those games.

Ron Anderson​

Anderson played 393 games for the Sixers and he averaged 13.1 points and 3.9 assists as he was a solid player the team could count on a nightly basis.

Michael Curry​

Curry played 10 games for the Sixers in his rookie season, and he averaged 0.9 points and 0.1 rebounds while donning the No. 20 before being waived. He went overseas and returned to the NBA in 1995 and spent most of his playing career with the Detroit Pistons. He returned to Philadelphia as an assistant coach under Collins.

Greg Graham​

Graham donned the No. 20 the same season Curry did, after the latter was waived. Graham played 128 games across three seasons for the Sixers. He averaged 5 points and 1.3 rebounds in those games.

Greg Sutton​

Sutton played 30 games for Philadelphia, with two starts, after signing as a free agent in the middle of the season. He averaged 6.3 points and 2.1 assists in those games.

Frankie King​

King played seven games for the Sixers while donning No. 20, and he averaged 2.9 points and 2.0 rebounds.

Eric Snow​

Snow played 452 games across seven seasons for Philadelphia, and he averaged 9.7 points and 6.6 assists for them. He helped the Sixers reach the NBA Finals in 2001 as the backcourt partner for Allen Iverson.

Lou Amundson​

Amundson averaged 1.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 26 games across two seasons for the Sixers.

Jodie Meeks​

Meeks averaged 9.1 points and 2.3 rebounds while shooting 38.3% from deep in 159 games for the Sixers. He played in 18 playoff games for Philadelphia and shot 35.5% from deep.

Brandon Davies​

Davies wore two numbers for the Sixers. He wore No. 20 in the 2013-14 season, averaging 2.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 51 games.

Tim Frazier​

Frazier played in six games for the Sixers on a couple of 10-day contracts in the 2014-15 season. He averaged 5.7 points and 7.2 assists in those games.

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot​

Luwawu-Cabarrot wore two numbers while with the Sixers. He wore No. 20 in his first season with them. He played 69 games with 19 starts, and he averaged 6.4 points and 2.2 rebounds that season.

Markelle Fultz​

The curious case of Fultz began in his rookie season when it was interrupted after six games due to a bizarre shoulder injury. The former No. 1 pick played in 33 games for the Sixers before he was traded to the Orlando Magic. He averaged 7.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists for Philadelphia.

Alec Burks​

Burks was acquired at the deadline from the Golden State Warriors in 2020 and he provided some offense to the bench unit. He averaged 12.2 points and shot 41.6% from deep in 18 games for the Sixers.

Georges Niang​

Niang signed in the 2021 offseason and he has given the Sixers a big boost to their bench. He averaged 8.7 points and 2.5 rebounds while shooting 40.2% from deep in two seasons with Philadelphia before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2023 offseason.

DJ Wilson​

Wilson played two games for the Sixers while on a 10-day contract and averaged 5.0 points and 1.0 blocks.

Jared McCain​

You must be registered for see images

The No. 16 pick of the 2024 draft, McCain had his rookie season limited to only 23 games in 2024-25 due to a torn meniscus in his left knee. He averaged 15.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.4 rebounds while shooting 38.3% from deep. He will play a big part on the Sixers as he moves forward in his career.
