Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan will be entering his first pro season with some pretty high expectations.
ESPN senior writer and fantasy football analyst Mike Clay has projected the statistical leaders for the 2025 NFL draft class. He has McMillan, this year's eighth overall pick, as the leading pass catcher of the bunch—with 926 yards and five touchdowns.
Although short of the "magical" 1,000-yard mark, Clay's forecast for McMillan would be quite the output.
Since 2011, 18 wide receivers have been selected in the top 10 of the draft. And of those 18, 10 went on to mass at least 900 receiving yards as a rookies.
McMillan, of course, is no stranger to big-time production. The 6-foot-4, 219-pounder totaled 213 receptions for 3,423 yards and 26 touchdowns over his three seasons at the University of Arizona.
Behind McMillan in Clay's projections are Green Bay's Matthew Golden (889 yards), Jacksonville's Travis Hunter (884), Las Vegas' Jack Bech (747) and Houston's Jayden Higgins (723).
