Edmonton Oilers at Dallas Stars: Expert picks, predictions for Game 5

CBS Sports: Bet Dallas on the money line

"While the Oilers have dominated the last three games of the series, the SportsLine projection model is leaning on the Stars to stay alive on home ice. Dallas won seven straight at American Airlines Center prior to being shutout 3-0 by Edmonton in Game 2. The model projects the Stars will take care of business at home, as they are winning outright in 60% of simulations."

Sportsbook Wire: Stars 3, Oilers 2

"The Oilers have pushed the Stars to the brink of elimination, inching closer to a rematch with the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final. Edmonton is going to have a tough time closing this one out, though. Dallas should get it done, but don't be surprised if we get our first overtime marathon of the series."

Google Gemini: Stars to win Game 5

"While the Oilers have shown incredible resilience and top-tier talent, the Dallas Stars, playing at home with their season on the line, are in a prime bounce-back spot. The Hyman injury, while not necessarily series-deciding, could impact the Oilers' depth and physicality.

"Therefore, I'm leaning towards the Dallas Stars winning Game 5. They have the motivation, home-ice advantage, and the underlying statistics suggest they've been generating chances. They'll need to capitalize on those chances and get a big performance from Jake Oettinger to force a Game 6."

  • Moneyline: Stars (-130); Oilers (+110)
