First, I have to disagree with the some of what the following post stated:

I don't agree that the offensive line coaching since Joe Bugel has been all that bad, until Dennis Green arrived and hired and fired Bob Wylie all in about one breath.
I don't think Wylie should really even be counted as he didn't coach long enough to have that much of an effect, other than to disagree with Green, which hindsight now shows was more a point for him than against him.
Buddy Ryan hired Dan Neil as OL coach. That one might be debateable.
When Tobin came in he hired Carl Mauck who most people thought got a gum deal in San Diego, as was fired as a scapegoat as much as anything.
George Warhop was hired to replace Mauck in 1998, who left for Buffalo.
Warhop is generally considered at good OL coach. He wasn't the problem here. That could be blamed more on OC problems than OL coaching. In fact it was because Bill Parcells "stole" Warhop to coach in Dallas and was also trying to entice Jerry Sullivan to move too. That's why Mac made his waterloo decision to promote Sullivan to OC to Replace Rich Olson and led to Mac's downfall.
Warhop, (along with Sullivan) now both coach for the 49'ers.
The big OL problem started when Green fired Wylie and promoted Everett Lindsay to OL coach. That's when the shift really started to blow. Between Green's ignorant personnel handling and that, yeah, things hit an all time low.
But this franchise has always generally had some decent OL coaches. Historically the Cards have "always" historically been known for big bruising OLinemen, and was geared for the old NFC East, a division known for power/smash mouth ball control football. The move to the NFC west changed a lot of that, a very different general style of play, more wide open aggressive offences, etc.
I do agree, I think Grimm will get the job done, the question of the day is .....how long will it take?
Also, secondly didn't Grimm state that what he is prefers is smaller more mobile guards and bigger tackes. I don't know that I would personally agree with that theory, but I'll give him his due and see what shakes out, "doing it his way" so to speak. I could see where Wells would fit that mould, but as I've maintained for a long time, Wells does have trouble in power struggles one on one. If he's got a good big road grader beside him, then that can help cover some of that. Right now, that's another area that seems lacking, and one of the reasons I think the Cards should maybe have made a little more effort to keep Big.
I can't blame them for letting him walk for what Dallas paid though.
For me it will be interesting to see how this scenario does play out. Will Grimm and Whis try to mould the players to fit "the system" or modify the system to fit the available talent?
I think they will get it done, but it may take awhile.
