Now that the NFL Draft is over, the next big event on the NFL calendar is quickly approaching.
It's comparable to the Super Bowl on the scale of the biggest event during the three slowest months of the NFL offseason.
We're talking, of course, about the NFL schedule release, which is set for May 14 at 8 p.m.
For Eagles fans, the schedule release is when they can plan out their road trips to far-flung locations like Los Angeles in order to overrun SoFi Stadium to see the Eagles face the Chargers or a trip up the New Jersey Turnpike to see the Eagles face the Giants.
The Eagles, like every NFL team, know their opponents for 2025. They just don't know the order of the games. That will be revealed on May 14.
But we do know a few things.

First of all, as defending Super Bowl champions, the Eagles will open the NFL schedule with a prime-time game on Sept. 4 at Lincoln Financial Field. Secondly, the Eagles should get close to the maximum of six prime-time games.
After all, who wouldn't want to see if Saquon Barkley can once again run for 2,000 yards after getting 2,005 last season? Or if the Eagles can fend off challengers to their championship.
Here, then, is everything you need to know about the Eagles' 2025 schedule ahead of the official release:
The NFL announced during the NFL Draft that the full 2025 schedule will be released at 8 p.m. on May 14.
The NFL announced that it will have three games scheduled on Christmas Day this year, and possibly every year going forward. In 2025, Christmas falls on a Thursday. Two of the games will be shown on Netflix and the other on Amazon.
It's possible the Eagles could play in one of the games, and wouldn't it be something if it was in a Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs? The Chiefs have volunteered to host a Christmas game every year, much like the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys host a game every year on Thanksgiving.
The NFL has responded that it is not ready to commit to the Chiefs for that just yet, so perhaps the chances aren't that great.
Then again, the NFL would likely want at least one marquee matchup on the holiday. A Super Bowl rematch could certainly cause Santa Claus to pause a bit before heading back up the chimney.
After all, the three NFL Christmas games are going up against five NBA games. Christmas Day has long been a fixture for the NBA, and it appears that the NFL wants to fill its proverbial stocking with TV ratings.
If the Eagles aren't playing on Christmas, there's a better chance they could play the Cowboys on Thanksgiving than in past years. The Eagles do play the Lions, but that game is in Philly, so a Thanksgiving game in Detroit won't happen.
The Eagles last played on Thanksgiving in 2015 against the Lions. The year before, the Eagles played the Cowboys. Again, the NFL could be looking for a good matchup in the late afternoon time slot.
Since the Cowboys aren't expected to be an elite team, the Eagles could bring some, ahem, gravy, to the matchup.
