DVD Recorder hookup question.

I just purchased an Emerson DVD Recorder to go with my Phillips 708 DVR with Tivo. I plan on hooking up an old Panasonic VCR that has no S cable access with the other 2 and attach them to an Hitachi 43" HDTV that has 6 inputs, including 4 with S capability.
Right now I have the DVD Recorder to play on Vid 2 but my shows I want to burn play on Vid 1. Help!???

What model of Emerson did you get?

Ours is a EWR20V5. The EWR20V4 has an issue with any discs above 4x, and you must get an upgrade from the company. The EWR20V5 is complete, no issues.

I got the EWR10D4. I do believe I will have to get the upgrade disc.
