It was a great first half on the scoreboard for the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night in Game 1 of their first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Golden State leads Minnesota 44-31 at halftime after they were able to outscore the Timberwolves 26-11 in the second quarter.

Of course, the Warriors had to play most of the second quarter without their star point guard Stephen Curry after he exited with a left hamstring strain that is set to keep him sidelined for the remainder of the game.

While Curry’s injury is a massive blow for the Warriors, they have had some key players step up in his absence, leading to their 13-point halftime lead.

On player who has massively stepped up for Golden State on Tuesday night is their star forward Draymond Green.

Green finished the first half with 16 points while missing just two shots while also making four three-pointers to go along with six rebounds, three assists and two steals to lead the Warriors.

With this first half performance, Green has scored his most points in a half in a playoff game since the 2018 playoffs.

It has truly been an incredible performance thus far for Green, who is not known for his three-point shooting.

Because of his performance thus far, the Warriors have opened up a sizeable advantage even without Curry in the lineup and they will need Green to keep up his scoring in the second half if they want to steal a victory on the road.

Of course, the Warriors also need some of their other key players such as Jimmy Butler and Brandin Podziemski to step up as well alongside Green with Curry set to miss the remainder of the game.
