With his contract negotiations still at a stalemate, Jonathan Kuminga wasn't in attendance for the Golden State Warriors' training camp on Monday at San Francisco's Chase Center. Despite not being in the Bay Area for training camp, the 22-year-old forward was a popular subject at media day on Monday.
While there's been a lot of speculation about Kuminga's future with the Warriors, his teammate Draymond Green appeared to have a positive outlook. Green was asked if he thinks the former No. 7 overall pick wants to be in Golden State. While at the podium on Monday, Green told members of the media that he believes Kuminga wants to remain with the Warriors. Green also revealed that Kuminga told him he wants to be with Golden State.

Kuminga's storied contract negotiations have extended through the summer and now into the start of training camp in late September.
Kuminga reportedly has multiple options on the table with the Warriors. According to Anthony Slater and Shams Charania of ESPN, Kuminga's contract offers include a two-year, $45 million contract and a three-year, $75.2 million contract. Both of those contracts include a team option. He also has another contract offer that doesn't include a team option, which is for three years and $54 million, per ESPN.
Kuminga could also accept a $7.9 million qualifying offer with the Warriors. Kuminga has until Wednesday's restricted free agent qualifying offer deadline to make a decision.
While Kuminga and his representation make a decision, the Warriors are set to begin practice on Tuesday in San Francisco.

I think anyone should want to be with the franchise that they started, and so do I think he still wants to be? I do still think he wants to be here. And he said that to me, that he still wants to be here.
When you're still with the franchise that drafted you, I don't care what has happened, you dont throw that in the middle of the ring and say, 'hey, somebody else go take it' because you never get it back.
Once you move on to the next franchise, I'm thankful I'm going into year 14 with the same. I've never had to experience that, but I've seen people go through it. It's never the same. I know it's business. It will never be the same. I know he still wants to be here. I think anyone should still want to be with the franchise that drafted them if you can. Once you leave that place, it's just different.
