Double Delight for Bill Belichick as North Carolina Registers Major Recruiting Win originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Head coach Bill Belichick is joining the North Carolina Tar Heels with some high expectations, as many think he can help quickly turn things around after the team went just 6-7 last season.
Of course, after winning six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, there's no doubt he was successful at the NFL level, but college football produces a whole new set of challenges.
One of those is being able to recruit talented players out of high school, which Belichick has quickly shown a strong ability to do.
On Thursday, he and the Tar Heels made two huge additions, receiving commitments from a pair of brothers both in the 2026 recruiting class, linebacker Jayden Griffin-Haynes and EDGE Zavion Griffin-Haynes.
Both are great news, and especially Zavion, as On3 Industry Rankings places him as a four-star recruit, the No. 36 EDGE, the No. 19 player in North Carolina and the No. 338 player in the nation.
Jayden is ranked a bit lower, but nonetheless still an impressive addition, as he's a three-star recruit, the No. 79 linebacker, the No. 40 player in North Carolina and the No. 942 player in the nation.
Of course, if their main goal was to start their collegiate careers at the same school, they did have other options, as both received offers from the Texas A&M Aggies, the Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles, but instead chose the Tar Heels.

The Griffin-Haynes brothers immediately come in and give a huge boost to Belichick's 2026 recruiting class, which now has a total of 17 commitments, ranking No. 6 in the ACC and No. 28 in the nation, per On3.
