It’s not the kneeling. It’s not doing what everyone else is doing that is being seen as disrespectful by many.

If the tradition of honoring the anthem was everyone kneeling then someone standing would be seen as disrespectful. I’m pretty sure a lot of players sit on the bench during the anthem. That’s how it started with Kaep. Marshawn Lynch sits on his helmet.

Kaep started by sitting. After an encounter with a vet who supported him, the vet advised Kaep that kneeling would allow the protest without being disrespectful. They are still silent, just not standing.

I agree, but according to U.S. Code Title 36, Subtitle I, Part A, Chapter 3, Section 301, and also according to many people who are looking for reasons to be angry at people who look, behave, and believe differently from themselves, kneeling is not the way people "should" show respect during the National Anthem. Of course, many of those same people are hypocrites who themselves don't show "proper" respect to plenty of national institutions and symbols.

I still don't understand why we have to play the national anthem at sports games.
    Why?!?!?

Why when I pay a ridiculous amount of money to watch a football game am I compelled to stand, remove my hat and pledge loyalty to the country. WTF???

    I'm not Un-American. I just want a reasonable un-biased explanation.

In your eyes Kavanaugh he may be controversial but I suspect yours r the eyes of a leftist who is all for ILLEGALS overrunning this country and costing the American taxpayer over $550 billion a year in free emergency room services, free tuition, more free welfare, free housing etc.

The leftist don't give a dam about these people but what they do care about is their illegal votes to kept the Socialist Democratic Party in power so that their politicians can become billionaires not millionaires. So don't tell me about Kavanaugh. Bidwell has 5th amendment rights to say whatever he desires to say just like the rest of us do.

Kavanaugh hopefully will be a good Scotus appointment and rule by the law and our constitution not by political activism such as the 4 leftists on the court do.

    Dear Mr. Constitution,

The 5th Amendment gives Michael no right to free speech. The 1st does.

    Sincerely,

    A Leftist

Please take all the political stuff to the appropriate forum r and not on a Cardinals football forum. Mods , I'm surprised you are letting it go to these extremes.

Thank you... had enough of the 'left' and 'right' political fantasy teams stating their virtual importance

Figured after citing the wrong ammendment, using poor grammar, and awful spelling, that you would’ve thrown in a couple of “Libtards” with a sprinkle of #MAGA to fully reveal your fealty to your cult leader. You disappoint me. Try better.

I agree about the DUI. Keim really screwed up there. It puts an elephant in the room for the whole preseason, err Idk, maybe it wont. I have no idea how a pro football locker room works. Maybe they dont give two cleats worth about SK.... lol But it does put him in a tight spot.... How can he preach to the players about safety and stuff? It's gonna have to come from the Coach and Mike B now. Fired? Cmon guys, outside of a few edge cases, most people keep their jobs when they get a DUI. As much as we'd love to use this as an excuse to pile on Steve it's still just one. If this happens again, I say dunzo. Everyone makes mistakes, but you have to atleast give them a chance to prove they wont do it again.

Anyways per the other thing. I have zero problem with Mike B saying his friend of almost 40 years is a great pick. In fact, I trust Mike B and I've met him in person a couple of times. He's a super normal and impressive man. We are by no means acquainted or anything, but just observing him at events where I was the photographer, he seems like a really genuine person. I think he's a good person and I think that no matter what (well uhhh, to a point lol) his politics are... So, if he says the guy is ok it means something to me. I'll take a closer look now rather than just getting on Mikes case for 'sticking his nose in politics.' He's a former Federal Prosecutor and he's known the man for 37 years. I totally wanna hear his opinion on the guy because; his opinion actually means something outside of being a football owner. He's not just some NFL owner mouthing off, that's totally ignorant.

We dont all have to form ranks everytime someone is loosely associated with Trump guys.
