Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane will practice Thursday in a red no-contact jersey, as the team plans on slowly working him into the mix before their Week 15 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football.
"He'll go through some of his assignments and he'll participate, but he'll be limited," McDaniel said of Achane on Thursday. "It'll just be a gradual increase in activity and physicality."
Achane suffered a ribs injury in the team's Week 14 victory against the New York Jets after falling on the football. While the running back exited to the locker room in the second quarter and didn't play in the remainder of the game, McDaniel said that Achane was available to return, if needed.
While it won't be a full and typical week of practice for Achane, the back is largely expected to play Monday night against the Steelers.
In 13 games this season, Achane has recorded 1,126 rushing yards and 383 receiving yards. His 5.8 yards per rushing attempt lead the league and his 1,509 yards from scrimmage rank sixth.
Achane hasn't missed a game since an injured reserve stint during his rookie season in 2023.
