The Dodgers have managed to widen their gap in the NL West after a sweep of the Colorado Rockies, putting themselves at three games up over the San Diego Padres.
While the Dodgers look to continue their winning ways after a brutal start to September as they face a San Francisco Giants making a late push for a potential Wild Card spot. The Giants enter this weekend having won seven out of their last 10 and 13 out of their last 20, placing them tied for the second best record in baseball over the last 20 games.
Grant Bisbee of The Ahtletic discusses the upcoming series and the future trajectory of the Dodgers vs. Giants rivalry, noting how the Giants have been able to sustain a healthy and youthful roster while the Dodgers deal with their plethora of injuries.

The Dodgers bullpen has seemingly sustained zero consistency throughout the entire the season, as the signings of Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates in particular have not panned out. Despite all the issues they’ve faced, a rookie, Jack Dreyer, has become the saving grace for the bullpen this season.
Doug Padilla of the Orange County Register writes about Dreyer’s emergence in the Dodger bullpen, with Dave Roberts describing the rookie reliever as someone that can handle any role or task handed to him.
“Jack’s been great,” Roberts said. “You know, it’s hard to quantify baseball aptitude or heartbeat, but because of his intelligence, his calmness, he’s been able to kind of handle whatever role, whatever leverage. He takes the information, understands what he’s trying to do every time he’s on the mound. And that’s shown itself.”
