Diamondbacks Make Corbin Carroll Decision Before Rockies Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Arizona Diamondbacks are in the midst of an up-and-down season, currently holding a 39-37 record while on a three-game win streak and winning seven of their last 10 contests.
Despite this recent surge, they still remain 2.5 games behind the third Wild Card spot and 7.0 games behind the NL West leading Los Angeles Dodgers. Offensively, the Diamondbacks have been on a tear during the month of June—owning the highest OPS in MLB for the month at .799.
A huge reason for this offensive production has been the stellar play of outfielder Corbin Carroll, who has smashed four home runs and posted an extraordinary 1.099 OPS in just 57 plate appearances during June.

However, Carroll’s momentum halted when he was struck on the hand by a 91.4 mph sinker from left-hander Justin Bruihl in the eighth inning of Arizona's 8-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday.
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo offered an update on the status of the outfielder, saying he will get an MRI on his left hand tomorrow in Chicago. He also mentioned that his hand is getting better and he was an option to pinch hit yesterday but after the situation with Gabriel Moreno they want to be extra cautious.
Arizona has decided to hold Carroll out of the lineup again.
Moreno had been placed on the injured list on Thursday with a hairline fracture in his right index finger—a setback expected to keep him sidelined for weeks rather than days.
Carroll, the 2023 Rookie of the Year and an All-Star, was instrumental in leading the Diamondbacks to the World Series in 2023. Over the course of this season, Carroll has already racked up 2.7 WAR, launched 20 home runs, and swiped 10 bases, all while maintaining a .255 batting average and a .914 OPS.
