The Miami Dolphins had some hits and misses in the 2025 NFL Draft as they selected players of certain position needs.

There are several players to highlight, but one player that people will point out is Miami getting former Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers in the seventh round with the No. 231 pick.

There aren’t many situations where a team drafting a quarterback in the seventh round would create so much controversy, but the Dolphins have opened the floodgates. Many Miami fans love the selection of Ewers as a backup, but some are going beyond that.

Among the people who are jumping on the Ewers train is three-time Pro-Bowler and former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant. On Saturday, Bryant expressed on X his favoritism of the Dolphins potentially moving on from starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and even gave Ewers a Hall of Fame-type.

Bryant believes that Ewers can reach an all-time level of Dan Marino with the Dolphins based on their style of play. He didn't say when Ewers should take over Tagovailoa as the starting quarterback, but the take would indicate that he should start sooner rather than later.

Tagovailoa will be the starting quarterback this upcoming season, while Ewers will attempt to learn how to live the new NFL lifestyle. Ewers will also compete with Zach Wilson for the title of backup quarterback.
