Deion Sanders Sends Strong Message Amid Growing Health Concerns originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Colorado Buffaloes head coach and NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has faced a wide range of health issues stemming from his playing days—and now, concerns have resurfaced during his coaching tenure.

Sanders, who has played a pivotal role in transforming the Colorado football program both culturally and competitively, is preparing for his first season without his son, Shedeur Sanders, at quarterback. However, recent reports raised questions about his health.

According to USA Today, Sanders returned to Texas recently alongside athletic trainer Lauren Askevold due to an unspecified health issue—prompting growing concern in Boulder.

With the Buffaloes in the midst of offseason summer camps and Sanders absent, speculation increased, especially after Deion Sanders Jr. and Shedeur Sanders declined to comment in detail on the situation in recent days.

On Wednesday morning, Sanders broke his silence, addressing the concerns directly with a heartfelt and relieving message on social media:

"Wow, I am truly blessed for the abundance of well wishes, for all the thoughts and all of the prayers. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!"

"I can assure you all that everything is OKAY and will continue to be so. God got me like no other. I have so much more work to do to glorify God so please believe—God got me!"

"I’m excited to get back to Colorado to be at home with my staff, team & all associated with our program. When we arrive back in Boulder you will be updated on everything."

"Until then, I’M COMING BABY. #CoachPrime"

Back in 2021, Sanders underwent a series of serious medical procedures—including the amputation of two toes on his left foot due to complications from blood clots. Over time, he endured a total of 16 surgeries to treat the condition.

Fortunately, it appears the legendary defensive back—and ever-energetic presence—will be back in Boulder soon as he prepares for his third season as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes.
