According to reports #Dbacks 3B Coach Tony Perezchica will be leaving the team to join the Houston Astros. He had been with the Diamondbacks for 22 years, and in this role for the entirety of Torey Lovullo's tenure

I can see more Marte being our DH and still play some second to give guys days off here and there .

Walker is more important than people think but if you can get a guy like Vlad Jr in a trade then I would seriously consider it.

Interested to see how they approach the pitching staff. Do they trade Gallen? Are we stuck with Montgomery? If we are does he have a bounce back season? Are we worried about Kelly and his seemingly frequent injuries? Pffadt, Nelson and Rodriguez are locked in to spots in my opinion so I’m intrigued on how they move forward.

I would like to retain Walker - his glove and bat are a big piece of the puzzle.

Hard to move off those three SP.

Not that he wasn’t already in the club’s plans, but Lawlar’s performance is serving as a sort of reminder that the Diamondbacks might already have in-house replacements for some of their potential free-agent departures.

First baseman Christian Walker and slugger Joc Pederson are expected to test free agency shortly after the end of the World Series. If both find their markets to be robust, it likely will mean they depart, creating holes at first base and designated hitter.

IMO:Walker turned down a "team-friendly extension" before or during the season. Hazen cannot (and should not) publicly discuss, but there was discourse around this earlier this year. He'll turn down the QO too. I think he gets something like 3 years, $50M in the open market.
16-17M for Walker is absolutely reasonable...if we're not willing to pay that, it's not a good sign.

They are playing Lawlar at 3B in the fall league. It certainly feels like they are preparing for Walker to leave and get the free draft pick.

Pavin plays 1B against righties. Suarez plays 1B and Lawlar 3B against lefties.

Try to bring back Joc to DH.

Man, if we pay Joc close to 20 and don't pay Walker the same amount, that would be a big mistake.

I am not sure I agree with that. Joc had a better WAR than Walker in 100 less PAs and playing DH. Walker's OPS of .800 isn't anything to get excited about.

In our division, there are so few lefty starters that the power lefty bat profiles well.

Also Walker is a year older than Joc.

I don't know if you can give Joc that many more AB's...he really fell apart at the end of the year. Walker is also a gold glove 1B - if they're willing to pay the same money to either of them, I'd go Walker.

Walker is gone. Lawlar and Del Castillo will be counted on to contribute. We just can’t spend anymore money beyond 2025 with Gallen and Kelly set to be FA’s after next season.

Where did he sign? I have not seen that.
