Paul Sewald has a disk problem in his neck that was causing problems with his left shoulder, manager Torey Lovullo said.Lovullo did not offer a timeline, but it sounds like it's possible that he could return before the end of the year.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. ran straight ahead at 80 percent today, manager Torey Lovullo said. He will play in a live game tomorrow.Lovullo said he is hopeful that Gurriel will be an option at some point on this road trip.

Gabriel Moreno’s MRI came back “fairly unremarkable,” manager Torey Lovullo said.Lovullo said that Moreno is day-to-day and that, as of now, he expects him to be available off the bench today.

Ryne Nelson will throw a 25-pitch bullpen tomorrow, manager Torey Lovullo said.It sounds like a return this weekend is still in play. Lovullo said that whether Nelson returns as a starter or reliever depends on what pitch count they feel he can safely reach.

Torey Lovullo confirmed Kevin Ginkel fractured a bone in his leg after taking a comebacker in New York this year. Ginkel was able to play through it but had to manage the pain.
