Bevell is one of the "finalists" for the Bears job. This means he will get an offer and accept before we even interview him.:bang:

He's an Arizona guy. Maybe he's actually interested in coming home. I'd be excited to have him.

He is still young and is coordinator for last 7 years. Did a Great with Seattle without an élite wrs corp. He is Arizona native so maybe between Chicago and Arizona will prefer to coach for cardinals

Darrell Bevell (born January 6, 1970) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL), a position he has held since the 2011 season. Bevell played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he was a four-year starting quarterback.
After graduating from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, Bevell redshirted as a freshman quarterback at Northern Arizona University. At the time, Brad Childress was NAU's offensive coordinator. Bevell then embarked on a two-year LDS mission to Cleveland, Ohio. Bevell received scholarship offers from NAU and Utah, but he decided to join Barry Alvarez at Wisconsin.
Wisconsin's football program had struggled for many years, but Bevell was named starting quarterback in 1993 and he promptly led the team to a surprising "Cinderella" season. The 1993 Badgers finished the year with a 10–1–1 record, becoming co-champions of the Big Ten and securing the school's first Rose Bowl invitation since 1963. They ended the season by defeating UCLA Bruins 21–16 in the 1994 Rose Bowl. It was the school's first-ever Rose Bowl victory. In the fourth quarter of that game, with Wisconsin clinging to a 14–10 lead, Bevell made the most memorable play of his college career. Not known for his running ability, Bevell scrambled 21 yards down the left sideline for a touchdown.
The following season, Bevell again guided the Badgers to a winning season. They defeated the Duke Blue Devils 34–20 in the 1995 Hall of Fame Bowl, giving Wisconsin back-to-back bowl wins for the first time ever. Bevell finished his career with several school records, including most passing yards in a single game (423) and in a career (7,686).
After going undrafted in the 1995 NFL Draft,[1] Bevell began a career in coaching, including stints at Westmar University (Le Mars, IA), Iowa State University, and the University of Connecticut.
In 2000, Bevell was hired by the Green Bay Packers as an offensive assistant. In 2003, he was promoted to quarterbacks coach, where he worked with Brett Favre. In 2006, Childress was hired as the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, and he brought Bevell to his team as offensive coordinator.

Can we compete with what he was making at Chaparral?

Bevell is also interviewing with Jacksonville. Nothing official that he is meeting with the Cards.

Why? If the Bears would have (or do) hire him we wouldn't question it at all. He's a legit candidate.

Because he's about #6 or #7 on the rumored interview list, and all of the sudden his name pops up when McCoy cancels his second interview. I don't give a rip what the Bears have been up to.

To me, it also indicates the Cards aren't happen with the guys they've interviewed that haven't taken jobs yet.

Look as far as I know, Bevell might be such an awesome head coach that someday they scratch "Lombardi" off the trophy and put his name there instead. But, I would still feel like we looked at him as a second or third option at best.

But, hey, we are always due for good luck.

Did R. Wilson make Bevell who he is?

Yes but he developed him as a qb. He made Seattle a complete offense with Great running game.seattle doesnt have a Great receiving corp, i think he had much more Credit on this year success then mccoy

One Hopeful Note...

Bears won't sign both Beville AND Arians. (Of course, there's Philly, but the Eagles have narrow their choices from the entire population of Akron to the one dude they wind up signing).

More likely Adrian Peterson and Brett Farve. Bevell was the Viking OC when Minnesota drafted Adrian Peterson and Mr. Wrangler came out of retirement to play in Minny.

He was also the Viks OC when we kicked their 10-1 butts 30-17. :koolaid:

I'm happy to see the Cards going after more offensive-minded coaches instead of switching courses and settling for Horton.

Bevell seems like a good fit. I especially like the way he adapted his offense to fit his personnel this year. We need a guy like that around here.

Here's a brief analysis of his coaching style from a writer in Chicago:

Bevell would probably get on Chopper's Tyler Wislon list real quick if he came to Az. :D
I wonder what happens to Matty Flynn should Beville come here? Does Flynn follow him here? Or, if Beville is responsible for letting Wilson leapfrog past Flynn, would it rule Flynn out as a future Cardinal?

Maybe

But keep in mind until the Seahawks lost Sunday, they couldn't talk to him.

He very well could have been on the list the whole time

Enquiring minds do want to know. But considering Petey is a defense guy, Bevell probably had some say so on who was throwing the ball in his offense, or in Flynn's case...who wasn't throwing the ball.
