Holy crap! That's like that scene in Naked Gun where they're having a shootout and they're like 2 feet apart. Except it's real life and only one of them is armed.

That photographer should buy a lottery ticket he's so lucky.

    Amen to that.

    And the final score was:

    Batstuff Crazy Gunman - 0
    Federal Protective Service - 1

    GG FPS.

I still cannot fathom why you bother having political arguments on facebook and then make big stories out of them. Delete it.

It's weird, there really hasn't been THAT much coverage of this incident so far.

I think it's safe to suggest that had this persons' skin been a tad darker, it would be a constant headliner...

Honestly it's the easiest forum right now to debate with someone you know. When they're posting about stuff like dangerous illegals while we have citizens like this guy running around I just felt it was a good chance to point it out. He never responded.

Exactly. A family illegally crosses the border into Texas national emergency, this happens almost no coverage.

yeah. To me it is just toxic and creating divides between friendships. When ever post mentnioned about facebook is "here is this argument I had on facebook", it makes me wonder why people even go on there anymore. I don't look for or want to have arguments really though. Not those kind. They are too personal and cause too many problems.

To be clear I don't just tag friends and say hey what about this. But when I see someone make a political post, I at times will respond with a differing POV.

The other day 2 guys I went to school with were having a debate about a "loving god" and I thought it was pretty impressive, they couldn't have been more in disagreement but not heated at all. Then one guys friend jumped in with you clearly have never read the bible you don't know what you're talking about etc. The guy responded by quoting all sorts of scripture to defend his point and then the other guy got mad and it got ugly. But to my surprise, the original friend, jumped in and told his religious friend to back off they were having a friendly debate until he showed up.

People do stuff on FB that is pretty amazing. We know a couple who got excommunicated(not the word for their church) from their church because they posted pics online of them gambling at a casino. Not only does their church forbid gambling, they had gone on a night they were supposed to be in church. Apparently several of their FB friends attend the same church, reported them, and they were banned from the church. Which is totally off topic but one of my biggest objections to organized religion, how people pick and choose which parts of the religion they're going to abide by. Although even in this topic I think it's relevant. Their religion tells them to be kind to strangers and help people in need but they go all in on deporting people and they seem completely indifferent to all the gun violence.

also sounds like a good objection to not use facebook. Getting banned from your hobbies because of a photo you posted? its like everyone is volunteering to be even more under the microscope of surveillance than they already are.

I do some of that on facebook myself.

I've always held the naive belief that facebook should be a place for family stuff, "hey look at what I did" accomplishments, graduations, and junk like that. I simply do not post political stuff there, even on other people's posts. However, I often correct people who post factually incorrect stuff, on both sides of the aisle. True, I correct more righties by far, by far they post the most ridiculous crap. I had to get rough with a very long time friend because he was talking about Snopes being a left wing, mom and pop outfit run out of their basement. Absolute bullcrap on his part and I pointed it out to him. I asked him to give me one example where they got it wrong and didn't correct it. ***crickets*** He doesn't seem to want to talk with me anymore, but that's life. To quote John McClane, "I've got enough friends." (on facebook).

"When someone shows you who they are, believe them."

This church is NOT a hobby. In fact the husband had to convert from being catholic or she would not have been allowed to marry him. And believe me people had asked them before about the gambling and the church they were very aware they weren't supposed to do it. I forget which one of them posted the pics but it wasn't that someone else ratted them out.

I know people that have lost jobs over FB too.
