First world problem. Working from home today (not my preference). I will admit - it is nice to be a bit more relaxed, see the wife (who always works from home), and see our dogs...
Sorry to hear about your loss, @AZ Native
I can understand when you don't do it all the time but after nearly a year of working from home with my wife I needed a break. I started looking for opportunities to get me away temporarily just to get out of the house and so I could be around other people. So here I am in Indy until the end of June.
There was an article in the AZ Republic about the shortage of volunteers at all facilities giving the Covid vaccinations. If you volunteer you can get your shot after your shift. I already have both of my shots but since there is now a huge shortage of volunteers (many only volunteered to get the shot) I have volunteered for Monday at the Cardinals' Stadium. I plan on volunteering a few more times. They must need all the help they can get if they accepted me.
When I tried to volunteer earlier there were no spots available. But now when I signed up for Monday they need 225 volunteers and were 187 short.
Last night my sons got there first shot and were there over an hour and a half because of the lack of volunteers. This may get worse as it gets hotter and people have received their shots.
I had an egg and potato burrito from Golden Pride, it was good but something was missing! maybe chile?
Bacon or sausage?
I wasn't feeling meet today.
Waiting for @MrYeahbut to come in here and scold me about why I should have had meat in my burrito.
By all means, the chile would have been nice. I do like a good hot sauce as well.
I like Tabasco sauce.
It's hard to beat Tabasco. I like Red Devil as well.
In regard to fast food hot sauces, I like Taco Bell Fire Sauce.
I made a low country boil over the weekend--shrimp, andouille sausage, corn and potatoes. It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped but I still ate it and had leftovers.... maybe could have used Tabasco (didn't think of it until Ronin mentioned it).
I have some friends coming over tomorrow night and I plan to cook but I still don't know what to make them. Probably something simple, it's too cold to grill (temp was in the 30's this morning!) so I will have to manage in the kitchen.
Here's something to think about.
I recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two visits and exhaustive Lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age. (I'm looking at 70). A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 100?'
He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer, wine or hard liquor?'
Oh no,' I replied. 'I'm not doing drugs, either!'
Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued Ribs?'
I said, 'Not much... my former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!''
Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, boating, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?'
No, I don't,' I said.
He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have lots of sex?
No,' I said...He looked at me and said, 'Then, why do you even give a crap?'
