Trade talk drives me absolutely over the edge!! We may already HAVE what we need! BRING UP CINTRON YOU MO-RONS!!!! If he doesn't make a difference, OK, then as July approaches, make a trade. But right now, Womack is just #!@&%ing squatting on a roster spot: .185 BA, .133 with runners on base!! OBP is .202. ONE WALK! 2 stolen bases. A mediocre .964 fielding percentage.
Cintron is hitting .394 after over 100 ABs, OBP is .432. Only 6 strikeouts, w/7 walks. He hits doubles. He languishes down there, while we languish up here. AHA! Let's trade some of the future for a so-so third baseman - not even a real power hitter - we probably won't really need after next year. Oh, a Mesa resident ...East Valley Trib...I got it.
Is this complete managerial ineptitude, or what!?? AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!
btw - we are doing worse against righty pitchers than left this year. We now have Barajas, Bautista, (Hammock), Moeller, Williams, and Spivey as right-handers, with Q and Baerga switch-hitters (as is Cintron). We have Gonzo, Fins, CC, Overbay, Dellucci, (and Grace) as lefties (I don't consider Womack a hitter at all). We are no longer the lefty-dominated lineup we used to be. What we don't have, is any reliable power except Gonzo.
And by the way - our "best defensive lineup"? It isn't anymore, either. Things change.
