FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys fans were forced to endure a miserable season in 2024, largely due to incomprehensible inactivity in the previous offseason and injuries during the campaign.
Cowboys fans crossed their fingers that there would not be a repeat of the 2024 offseason this summer, and ... so far, so good.
A new head coach, a new coaching staff, and a group of new players entering The Star have given fans hopes of a resurgent 2025.
Now, a week removed from the first day of the NFL Draft, Dallas fans are given even more hope as the Cowboys climb a spot in the NFL Power Rankings, at least by one writer.
One national site gives praise as Dallas moves up a spot from the rankings published after the first round of free agency.
The site places the Cowboys at No. 10 after what appears to be a successful haul in Green Bay last week.
"Yes, the team was bad a year ago, having been left for dead by its financially checked-out owner," the site wrote. "But, this team gets Dak Prescott back and absolutely demolished this draft, with three possible high-end starters in Tyler Booker, Donovan Ezeiruaku and Shavon Revel Jr. out of East Carolina. The Revel pick has tide-turning capabilities if the cornerback can stay healthy."
The NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles are painfully ranked No. 1, while the Washington Commanders place just ahead of Dallas at No. 9. The New York Giants are still near the bottom at No. 27, even after the selection of Penn State linebacker Abdul Carter with the No. 3 overall pick.
