Not all religions or congregations are irresponsible and completely ignorant - some (probably most) are reacting in a sensible way. But yeah, there are also the fanatical and imbecilic ones, too. I guess this could be an opportunity to test Darwinian theory for them.

In the beginning, Man created God so we have no one to blame and no one to look to for help other than ourselves (and each other).

Such as members of the Church of Climatology who first commiserate, but then point out that this will largely effect older enviro skeptics, which is somehow good in the grand picture.

Yep. Ben Carson took his final minute at podium today to talk about that crap and basically said America has lost it’s way and connection to God and that connection has gotten America through tough time in the past.

He can take his thoughts and prayer and shove them.

You’d think that with all these people who have direct conversations with god, the topic of a deadly pandemic would have come up and this benevolent overlord would have helped out, but I guess the standard plan of mass suffering and death won out.

He only wants a day of prayer, not a day of thoughts.

So he’s getting what he wants.

It's not even that of course. It's a guy who realizes he's in huge trouble in the next election so he's now trying to shore up voter blocs. National day of prayer is his way to try and keep the religious vote.

My guess is he'll do something similar with military and veterans, and of course farmers are hard hit too. I saw something this morning that was trying to suggest farmers are hurting because of the virus, the data they showed was simply too old to be at all related to the virus, so apparently they're now trying to blame problems his tariffs caused, on Covid 19.
