The Dallas Cowboys have a soul collector on defense in Micah Parsons, and in the first round of the NFL Draft, they added another in Alabama guard Tyler Booker.
We have seen Micah terrorize offenses for four straight years as the Lionbacker has registered at least 12 sacks in each season, but now in Booker, Dallas might have its soul collector on offense.
With his now-famous quote, "I make guys not love football anymore," ringing in our ears, Tyler embodies everything that new coach Brian Schottenheimer wants in his players. ...
A tough, physical, dominant, and powerful athlete who loves football and loves ruining everyone's day with an overwhelming ability to make people mentality disintegrate.
Well, that, and guys who can start. Like, now.
However, for offensive line coach Conor Riley, what sets Tyler apart is that he talks the talk, but once he gets on that field, he walks the walk.
“It's amazing,” Riley said. “We had done quite a bit of homework with Tyler, and I had an interview with him, and I was just blown away. So when you're hearing him say those things and then ultimately they translate on film because it's one thing anybody can sit here with a voice box and talk about it, but then when it translates and you see it in the way that he plays, to me what fires me up is that.
"He's going to put it out there, but then he's gonna go out and deliver.”

It has been a common theme for the Cowboys' draft, with players who offer those traits but are also leaders, with Schottenheimer wanting to shift the culture and make it a positive one.
And that starts with the type of players you bring into The Star.
Booker, Donovan Ezeiruaku, and Shavon Revel Jr., Dallas' first three draft picks, all have the leadership traits and personality that Schottenheimer is looking for, and when you look at it from a wider lens, you begin to see what is being built - every move is a piece to the 2025 puzzle.
Oh, and the Cowboys scouting department happens to think all three will become 2025 starters.
Add fifth-round pick Jaydon Blue, the Texas running back, to that list of possible first-stringers, and Dallas has a lot of rookies who might "walk the walk'' for Schotty, who is a "rookie'' first-time head coach as well.
Add it up and it's clear that the Cowboys are intent on adding players who have certain characteristics, with Booker the driving force in the offense, rediscovering their once-dominant and physical style of play.
One start at a time.
One soul at a time.
