Jim Irsay owns the Indianapolis Colts, but he'll always have a connection to Baltimore. The legendary Colts owner, and son of Robert Irsay, passed away on Wednesday at 65. Irsay's late father, Robert, acquired the Baltimore franchise in 1972 for $12 million and moved it to Indianapolis in 1984.
Irsay was the general manager of the Colts from 1984 to 1996 and took over day-to-day operations shortly after his father passed.
Irsay became the NFL's youngest owner at 37 and led the organization to new heights when he selected Peyton Manning as the first overall out of Tennessee in the 1998 NFL draft. Manning, a Hall of Famer and one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history, was their starting quarterback from 1998 to 2010.
