Edmonton Oil Kings forward Cole Miller has committed to Canisius, it was announced earlier this week.
A product of Edmonton, Alta., Miller just wrapped up his third full season with the Oil Kings, scoring 18 goals and adding 15 assists for 33 points in 68 regular season games. The Oil Kings made the playoffs and Miller appeared in seven games for the team but he was held pointless.
Drafted by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the first round of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Miller played in 255 career regular season games with the Hurricanes and Oil Kings, collecting 47 goals and 42 assists for 89 points. Prior to heading to the WHL full time, Miller played his minor hockey with the KC Squires, KC Centennials, MLAC as well as Northern Alberta Xtreme Prep.
With Miller heading off to join the Golden Griffins, he will forego his overage season in the WHL and head to the collegiate level. Having had a solid season for Edmonton in 2024-25, Miller should be able to grab a sizeable role out of the gates for Canisius and run with it.
