CLEMSON — Clemson softball is the No. 11 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, hosting the Clemson Regional at McWhorter Stadium.
The Tigers (44-12) have No. 2 seed Kentucky, No. 3 seed Northwestern and No. 4 seed USC Upstate in their regional, and aim to advance to a super regional for third time in program history.
Clemson won the ACC Tournament on May 10, its first conference tournament title. The Tigers beat Florida State 2-1 after a go-ahead two-run home run in the seventh inning by Kylee Johnson.
This season marks the fifth straight season in which Clemson made it to the NCAA Tournament, and it's hosting a regional for for the third time. It advanced to the super regionals both times it hosted a regional (2022 and 2023).
Last year, the Tigers lost in the NCAA regional in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, falling to Southeastern Louisiana twice.
The Tigers are bringing two award-winning players into the NCAA tournament. Reese Basinger was recently named ACC Pitcher of the Year and Macey Cintron was selected ACC Freshman of the Year.
The Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is from May 29 - June 5/6.
