Absolutely. His value in the free agent market is increasing with each start. He almost has his ERA down to 5. The compensatory pick the Dbacks get will be a good one.

As a starter you're going to lose a few when you pitch well and win a few when you don't pitch well (he had a game where we got a win despite giving up 7 ER this year). It's just how often you pitch well, and that's what's gotten Gallen this year. Not enough quality starts. In games where he's given up 2 or fewer ER this year, Gallen is 8-0 with 2 no-decisions. When he gives up three or more ER he's 1-13 with 5 no-decisions.
