Sept. 5 (UPI) -- The Cincinnati Bengals signed center Ted Karras to a one-year extension, they announced Friday. Karras missed just one start over the last three seasons.

"This is where I want to be," Karras told Bengals.com. "People here have been so great to me on and off the field, and the goal remains the same. To win a championship."

Karras also signed a one-year extension with the Bengals last off-season. He signed a three-year deal with the Bengals in 2022.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive lineman appeared in 50 games for the Bengals over the last three seasons. The former sixth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft also spent five seasons with the New England Patriots and one season with the Miami Dolphins.

Pro Football Focus gave Karras the 14th-best offensive rating among centers who were in for at least 80% of the maximum snaps played at the position last season. He received the second-best pass-block rating and 21st-best run-block rating among qualifying players. He allowed two sacks and six hits, the second-most among those centers.

Karras and the Bengals will take on the Cleveland Browns in their season opener at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday in Cleveland.
