Thinking back on the draft, it made me think of the kid with the insane gaze in the Christmas Story that kept saying he liked Santa Claus and anything else when they where standing in line to see Santa. Every coach and general manager of every team when building their smoke screens had the same response when asked about a player. Coach Mac, what do you think of Suggs... Mac-I like Suggs. Coach Parcels, what do you think of Kennedy...Parcels-I like Kennedy.

I sense a Jean Shepard Revival Movement. (A casual comment on another bb about Shep - who wrote Christmas Story and had an incredible weeknight all night talk show on local NYC radio during my teeage years - turned into a lengthy and intriguing thread).

For those of you too young to know much about the dude -

It was Shepard who had all his listeners - at a predesignated time - drop watermelons out of the windows of their NYC apartments to splatter on sidewalks throughout the city.

And it was Shep who suggested that the entire population of Long Island - first all run to the north shore/and then run back to the south shore - in an effort to tip the whole thing over.

Beyond the sun.
I wonder if this is how New Orleans got Graves to make the trade..."I triple dog dare you!"

Forgot

When the teams then really do draft, in the peace and quiet of the war room scream just like the crazed Santa boy when he finally got up to Santa.

Oh yeah, don't sign Plummer... he'll shoot your eyes out and your win/lose record.
