Yep, this is what Gambo said would happen - he's right again.

This is the right move IMO.

Now the question is whether the intention is to stretch him and try and get under the tax - or not and possibly resign him for the min.

You have to rip the band-aid off.

Not yet a done deal. Being discusses.

Phoenix Suns 'exploring' options with Chris Paul with waiving him being one of them, sources say #Suns
I don't think they have to or can officially do it yet. The new league year hasn't started yet.

One of the main dudes on Espn (Windy?) was suggesting this same thing a few days ago, ie. work with CP3 on some kind of deal to free up some cash to improve the team, perhaps an agreement to waive and resign him for less.

Ishbia gave CP3 15 million and said "hey act like you took a pay cut". Sneaky billionaires.

Looks like the Cp3 curse will continue to live on and not win a championship in AZ either

From SBNATION 76ers Insider: "But I reminded myself there’s way too much more slop coming to get too worried about any one scenario. And sure enough, ESPN Insider Ramona Shelburne dropped the next breadcrumb for us.

Appearing live on the Mason & Ireland on ESPN Radio show, Shelburne said:

“[The Phoenix Suns don’t waive Paul] unless they feel pretty good about somebody else. And I want you to keep your eye on James Harden. I don’t want to report anything, but that was in the wind for the past month or so. Everybody thinks it’s like Philly or Houston but I don’t know, there has been discussions in the wind.”

This doesn’t make sense.

unless the implication is a 3 way involving ayton.

personally I would rather have ayton than harden.

IDK, it sounded to me like she was making this a CP3 trade. She wasn't talking about Ayton.

How does that work - you think Harden would be willing to play for 15 million? I guess maybe they would also take Shamet - but even so this sounds far fetched at best knowing how much Harden has wanted his money in the past.

Kellen Olsen: "I can confirm from the team that Paul has not been waived and, per team sources, that the Suns are exploring those previously reported avenues."

The Harden thing makes zero sense - the one thing he brings to the table is the one thing we absolutely don't need!

Harden does everything that Paul does. Is bigger, younger, doesn’t get hurt often as well. Just as clutch too

He doesn't guard anyone and needs a bunch of shots. I can't imagine any universe in where Harden would be the right move, outside of something absurd like signing for the MLE or the minimum.

Paul gets abused in the switch. He also slows the pace, something Vogel does not want when we get defensive stops. Harden won’t be such a liability both sides of the court

I don’t think we’ll see forth quarter Paul in the playoffs again

Do we even have enough money and good strip clubs here for Harden?
