Oregon Ducks men's basketball coach Dana Altman has brought on Chinese basketball standout Wei Lin for the 2025-26 campaign.
Standing at 6-foot-2, Lin averaged 21 points a game in the Chinese Basketball Association. He shot 37 percent from the three-point line and an impressive 88 percent from the free-throw stripe. Lin was selected eighth in the G-League International draft, and he is the first Chinese pro player to sign on with an American college team.
The 2025-26 squad, which starts the season with an exhibition game Oct. 24 with Utah, is sprinkled with transfers and true freshmen to complement point guard Jackson Shelstad and center Nate Bittle, as well as forward Kwame Evans.
It's too early to tell exactly where Lin fits in, but given his talent overseas, it won't be a surprise if he doesn't crack the starting lineup sometime during the season and at the very least, becomes a sharpshooter off the bench.
